The ultimate goal of Tennessee Special Response Team-A is to decrease
the incidents of lost/missing/abducted persons through educational programs;
if search and rescue expertise is needed, to respond to the community's
needs with trained, certified personnel and canines with the purpose of
finding the missing child or adult as quickly and safely as possible and
to return the missing to a place of safety.


  • Assistance to any government agency in conducting search and rescue operations
    at no charge to the agency or victims
  • Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Ready to respond within one (1) hour of a call for assistance
  • All operational members are certified to National Association for Search
    and Rescue (NASAR) SARTECH II or higher
  • All operational K-9s and handlers are certified to NASAR Canine SARTECH III
    or higher
  • All operational personnel are Incident Command System (ICS) trained
  • All operational peronnel National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliant, certified in IS 100, IS 200 and IS 700
  • Human Remains Detection (land and water) NASAR certified K-9s and handlers
  • Search water craft/boat capable and supplied
  • Team is UHF/VHF communications capable; supply own portable radios
  • Medical capabilities
  • Urban and wilderness search capable
